Beach Toy Recycling Program
Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Beach Toys at the
Virginia Beach Oceanfront!
Current Beach Toy Recycling Box Locations: NONE! They will be back on the beach in May!
We are currently collecting gently used beach toys for this summer. Please see drop-off locations at the bottom of this page.
A collection of beach toys that had been found littering local beaches.
When you’re a kid, a day on the beach just isn’t complete without beach toys! Unfortunately, many beach toys are accidentally forgotten at the end of the day or may be accidentally washed out to sea during a rising tide. Also, many beach toys are used during a temporary stay, then thrown away at the end of vacation. But we have a solution to reduce this type of pollution!
Beach Toy Recycling!
Keep It Beachy Clean has partnered with Lynnhaven River NOW, Tidewater Master Naturalists, Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service and Virginia Beach Ambassadors Program to implement this Beach Toy Recycling Program.
We also want to thank Cooke Elementary School and Seatack Elementary School for their beautiful artwork on the Beach Toy Recycling Boxes.
We would like to acknowledge the support of the following businesses and organizations:
Virginia Beach Resort Advisory Commission
Virginia Beach Oceanfront Enhancement Committee
Best Value Hardware
City of Virginia Beach

New beach toy boxes aim to reduce plastic waste at Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Virginian Pilot, Stacy Parker
Believe it or not, plastic beach toys become litter in the ocean when they are left on the beach.
So leave a toy, or take a toy (or 2), when you spend a day at the beach.

Leave a toy, take a toy!
If you’ve purchased toys, but no longer want them, please add them to the box.
Did you find an abandoned toy on the beach, add it to the box!
Just need a few toys to spend the day with, take a few toys and put them back at the end of the day!
Really want to explore what all beach toys have to offer, take a few toys at a time and switch them out throughout the day!
