13NewsNow recently covered the expansion of our Beach Toy Recycling Program across Virginia Beach—a major upgrade that makes it easier than ever to reduce plastic waste at the coast. Boxes are now available at popular resort locations including 1st, 8th, 15th, 17th, 24th, 31st, and 36th Streets, as well as Chic’s Beach and Sandbridge.
The story highlights our “leave a toy, take a toy” approach—encouraging beachgoers to drop off lightly used or forgotten toys and borrow a few for a fun day in the sand. With this system in place, toys stay in circulation and fewer plastics end up washed into our waterways.
A heartfelt thank-you to Hannah Eason Amado and 13NewsNow for featuring our program and helping raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution and ways we can all Keep It Beachy Clean.
