SUMMARY:Earth Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to be featured by the Virginia Beach Visitors Guide in their recent article\, “Keepin’ It Beachy Clean”. The story spotlights our positive\, community-driven efforts to promote cleaner beaches through fun branding\, educational signage\, activity sheets\, the “Skip the Straw” campaign\, and our innovative Beach Toy Recycling Program. Program Director Christina Trapani emphasized that beach toys rank among the most common litter items in summer—highlighting our partnerships with Lynnhaven River NOW\, Tidewater Master Naturalists\, and Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service to place recycling boxes around the resort area. These boxes encourage kids and families to borrow toys during their beach visit and return them later—helping reduce plastic waste and promote reuse. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kelsey Thomas and the Virginia Beach Visitors Guide for sharing our story and helping raise awareness about the positive impacts of beach conservation and pollution prevention!
